Tokyo stocks open slightly lower on losses at Wall St.

Tokyo shares opened slightly lower on Monday, following Wall Street’s losses late last week after upbeat US jobs data raised the possibility of aggressive interest rate hikes by the Federal Reserve. In the first 15 minutes of trading, the 225-number Nikkei Stock Average fell 23.18 points, or 0.08%, from Friday at 27,627.66. The broader Topix index fell 5.03 points, or 0.26%, to 1,925.14. In the leading core market, declines were led by issues in shipping, pharmaceuticals and transportation equipment.
