Typhoon Hinnamnor causes flight cancellations and factory disruptions as it approaches Kyushu

Japan braced for the impact of an approaching powerful typhoon on Monday, with airlines canceling flights and some companies suspending production at factories in the west of the country.

Typhoon Hinnamnor was already battering parts of the westernmost main island of Kyushu with heavy rain on Monday, with rain and winds expected to worsen as the storm closes in on Tuesday and heads towards South Korea , which raised its typhoon alert level to the highest.
