The Aston Martin F1 Team has announced that Nick de Vries will drive the AMR22 in the first free practice session of this week’s Italian F1 Grand Prix.
Nick de Vries will drive alongside Lance Stroll in place of Sebastian Vettel. A lot of simulator work is already underway at the Aston Martin F1 team’s Silverstone headquarters in preparation for the session.
The trip to Monza will be the 27-year-old Dutchman’s third FP1 start of the 2022 season. He replaced Alexander Albon at Williams in the Spanish F1 GP and Lewis Hamilton at the Mercedes F1 team in the French GP of F1.

Nick de Vries’ participation in Monza has been organized under an agreement with the Mercedes F1 team, with all F1 teams participating in two free races with drivers who have never participated in two Grands Prix, in order to respect the 2022 regulations which require training. session to complete.
