[キーウ 6日 ロイター] – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in his regular speech on the evening of the 6th that the Ukrainian army shot down five Russian cruise missiles on the morning of the same day. But he did not mention the progress of operations in the east, which officials had hinted at earlier.

Zelensky said Ukrainian forces shot down five of Russia’s six X-101 missiles, including four in the south.

Previously, social media posts had reported on the fighting in and around Balakriya, between Kharkiv in the east and Russian-held Izhum. Izyum is considered a strategic point on the railroad that Russia uses to replenish its forces.

An adviser to the Ukrainian president also tweeted that he would have “great news” from the president regarding the operation in Kharkov province.

Reuters was unable to independently confirm these facts and Russia has not responded.

On the other hand, very little information has been published on the results of the Ukrainian army in the southern province of Kherson, because the Ukrainian government does not allow journalists on the front line and limits army announcements.
