Dodgers’ Urias finished 20-3 with a 2.96 ERA, the most wins in the National League

Dodgers pitcher Julio Urias will represent Mexico at the World Baseball Classic (WBC) next March. “It’s very special to represent Mexico,” said the left-hander, who led the National League with 20-3 and a 2.96 ERA last season.

“Julio Urias has accepted an invitation to represent Mexico in next year’s WBC,” David Basey of Sportsnet LA, a Dodgers broadcaster, said on Twitter. An interview video was posted to the station’s Twitter account, saying, “This is something special.”

“Urias said it would be a ‘dream come true’ to wear the Mexico national team jersey professionally,” tweeted MLB Dodgers official number Juan Toribio. So far this season, he has a healthy record of 15 wins and 7 losses and a 2.29 ERA.
