Tokyo confirms 10,640 new cases of COVID-19

Tokyo, Sept. 8 (Jiji Press) — Tokyo confirmed 10,640 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, marking the second consecutive day above 10,000 and a decrease of around 3,800 from the previous week.

Thirty new deaths from COVID-19 have been confirmed in the Japanese capital. The seven-day average of new cases fell 28.2% to 10,799.9. There were 31 patients with severe symptoms, an increase of two from Wednesday.
