A commemorative exhibition of Sendai Ikuei, who won the 104th national high school baseball championship for the first time (sponsored by Miyagi Takano Ren Prefecture, Asahi Shimbun Sendai General Office), started on the 9th in the special hall at 3rd Floor of the Fujisaki Main Building in Aoba Ward, Sendai City. Until 11.
The Great Victory Crimson Flag and Victory Shield, medals and uniforms worn by athletes in the prefectural tournament are on display. Around 50 photo panels that capture the fighting style from the first match to the Koshien Finals are displayed, and you can see the players’ animated expressions. The performance of the Sendai Ikuei Marching Band is played as background music.
Manager Wataru Sue, who visited the venue, said: “It reminds me of every moment of the tournament. I would be happy if as many people as possible could see the championship flag.”
Shinya Douguchi, a 44-year-old social worker from Tagajo City, who was the first in line for about two hours, said, “I was overwhelmed by the power of the real flag. Looking at the photo, I thought, “There was a scene like this. I was resurrected,” he said.
