Tokyo confirms 7,750 new cases of COVID-19

Tokyo, Sept. 11 (Jiji Press) — The Tokyo Metropolitan Government confirmed 7,750 new COVID-19 cases in the Japanese capital on Sunday, with the daily count dropping by 1,885 from the previous week.

Among those infected in Tokyo, 24 new deaths were reported during the day.

The number of COVID-19 patients with severe symptoms according to the metropolitan government’s criteria rose by two from the previous day to 32.

The seven-day average of new positive cases fell 23.3% from the previous week to 9,709.7.
