The current n°3 maegashira Tamawashi handed over yokozuna Terunofuji suffered his second loss at the Autumn Grand Sumo Tournament on Thursday, and joined No. 8 Hokutofuji and No. 13 Oho as the only undefeated wrestlers after five days.
Tamawashi, who had beaten Terunofuji in three consecutive encounters before losing in July in Nagoya, delivered fierce blows to the yokozuna’s throat with both hands in the final bout of the day at the Ryogoku Kokugikan.
