Kishida would ride high except for a political misstep

One major polling source showed him suffering a 14-point slump, while another resulted in a disapproval rating higher than the approval rating for the first time since taking office. His lowest figure in polls from a major source put him at 29% – slipping into the danger zone for Japanese prime ministers.
