Japan is reopening after closing its borders due to the COVID-19 pandemic for nearly three years. Vaccinated tourists from most countries will be allowed to enter from October 11, without needing to quarantine or undergo PCR tests.

When visitors arrive, they’re sure to notice (and appreciate) the affordability of restaurants, accommodations, and shopping, thanks to a much weaker yen. There are also new places to visit.
